| Acupuncture as a treatment modality is over 5000 years old. Thin and small sterilized needles are inserted into “acupoints”, which are spots along meridian lines where the flow of energy or Qi (chi) can be accessed and then balanced. By placing a needle into these spots the Acupuncturist can either reduce excess conditions or stimulate and tonify weak areas of the body. Meridian lines are also known as “channels”. There are 14 main channels in the human body, which are all linked to one another, and connect all parts, glands and organs of the body together. Acupuncture can be an effective method of treatment for many physical or psychological health conditions. The program includes both Western and Chinese acupuncture, and is a combination of theoretical and practical hands-on training. Upon completion the students will feel confident to be able to practice Acupuncture safely, effectively and efficiently, thus being able to successfully treat a wide variety of health conditions. | ||||||||||
